Jessica King is the founder, designer and full owner of the King Design label. Daughter to a family of Guatemalan immigrants and raised in the spirit of hard work and growing success, Jessica has built her label from the ground up. She has a vision to develop a career for herself where she can fully immerse herself in passion and hardwork. King began her fashion journey through the exploration of studio art in her early childhood. She explored theater costuming and styling in high school, to then finally ending up at FIDM Los Angeles where she received her Fashion Design degree. King Design has prided itself in beginning their own underground shows, featuring more obscure and avante garde pieces.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
King Design’s mission is, first and foremost, to empower women of all religions, sexuality, body type, color, and culture. We sell our clothing to drape you in confidence and unapologetic “bad-assery” for years to last.
Second, our mission prides itself in being vegan and ethically made. All of our athleisure, swim and knit wear is made at Ortiz Enterprises in Las Vegas, Nevada. All employees are POC and female, and it is also female owned. Our seamstresses are given the proper breaks and meal times and are paid at an hourly rate, NOT by piece as seen in a traditional sweatshop environment. Lastly, all pleather/vegan leather and miscellaneous textiles are all locally sourced here in Los Angeles, CA and we chose only the best quality to ensure our prices matches what lands at the footsteps of our customer’s doors.
